Web Dojo – May 14th, Javascript+game theme

It’s been a while since our last dojo and it’s time to get things moving again. The details of the dojo are a secret but if you like Javascript then you’ll have a lot of fun with this project. A dojo is a communal web-building event where impromptu teams form to develop a solution to the problem of the evening. At the end, everyone presents their work and explains the methodology and we all learn from each other’s successes and failures. UPDATE: Google+ support for remote teams, see below.

We think it will be a blast, come join us. We’re meeting Monday, May 14th at 7:00 pm at Foundry coworking, 418 6th Avenue, Suite 210, Des Moines IA (map). Parking at the meters is free since its after 6:00.

You can RSVP by leaving a comment on this blog post or on our Facebook page. Things you should bring:

  • A laptop or mobile device may be useful
  • If you’re a designer come inspired and ready to push some pixels or scribble on napkins
  • Your web dev skills such as PHP, HTML, CSS, Javascript, Database, Rails and etc

See you there!

Remote teams: We’ll be trying out Google+ hangouts this Monday night. This is great for a group of 2-4 people in Ames or somewhere else who want to participate but can’t make it to the meeting. Please leave a comment here or on Facebook if interested so that we can work out the details.
