What is a web geek?
A webgeek does not have to be a geek. They are enthusiastic about the web and the opportunities it brings.
Here is a short “webgeek” manifesto.
Man or woman, young or old, professional or enthusiast, you are welcome here.
Do you feel your future is tied to the web? You’ll fit in nicely.
There are many aspects to the web; web geeks have a passion about one or more of them.
A short list of activities that web geeks find interesting:
- Blogging
- Graphic design
- Coding
- Making web browsers do cool stuff
- Finding easier and better ways of doing things on the web
- Communicating and socializing electronically, for fun or for profit
- Shaping the future by innovating or leading those that do
In short, Des Moines Web Geeks is a group of enthusiasts who meet regularly to talk shop, sharpen each others’ skills and interact with people who speak the same language. While not all members are professionals, we strive to create a relaxed, yet professional, environment where anyone can speak up and share, regardless of your experience, gender or age.
Check our website for updated events and news. You can visit us on Facebook or our Google group for other ways to interact. But if you fit in with the above, then we think you’re a web geek. And we hope you’ll join us.
