Ars Technica, The Obama Campaign and The Cloud by @chadothompson

I’ve been talking to a few co-workers about a series of articles that Ars Tecnnica has been running recently about the technology teams that were created to support their 2012 campaigns.

Following the 2008 cycle, there was a lot of interest in how the Obama campaign used social media (following on the heels of the early efforts of the Howard Dean campaign in 2004) to enable volunteers and staff to be more efficient in working together. The New York Times summed up an early discussion by the then candidate with a Silicon Valley heavyweight:
